MPN01 – In & Out

Description
The 2 kites perform the same figure “in mirror”. Starting from left and right on 2 distinct horizontal lines, they both turn toward the zenith when they meet on the same horizontal line. After climbing a few meters, they separate by turning so as to resume their initial direction.
Entry / Exit
- The IN is given when the 2 kites face each other on 2 distinct horizontal lines.
- The OUT is given when the 2 kites find themselves on 2 distinct horizontal lines vertically aligned with the starting point (IN).
Tips / Key elements
- The lines must be straight both horizontally and vertically.
- The speed of the 2 kites must be identical throughout the figure.
MPN02 – SDS

Description
The 2 kites perform the same figure “in parallel”. After a slide executed side by side and at the same speed, from left to right, leading edge toward the ground, the 2 kites dive at the same time and same speed toward the ground before resuming a slide progression identical to that at the beginning of the figure.
Entry / Exit
- The IN is given when the 2 kites are leading edge toward the ground and on the same horizontal line ready to perform the slide.
- The OUT is given when the 2 kites finish the second slide.
Tips / Key elements
- The entire figure is executed with leading edge toward the ground.
- The horizontal lines must be well parallel to the ground and the descent must be well perpendicular to the ground.
- The speed of the 2 kites must be identical throughout the figure.
MPN03 – Rainbow

Description
The two kites start from the ground, tips downward, to perform, after a slight vertical climb, a half-circle to the left. This is followed by a vertical descent to land gently on the leading edge. The kites must give the illusion of being connected to each other by a spar to perform the figure in parallel.
Entry / Exit
The IN is given just before launch and the OUT just after landing.
Tips / Key elements
- To achieve the parallelism of the figure, the 2 kites must evolve at the same “average” speed during the phases of ascent and descent in straight vertical line (launch and landing).
- On the other hand, during the execution of the half-circles, the kite on the inside of the figure (red) should slow down a bit while the one on the outside (blue) will have to accelerate to achieve the desired effect.
MPN04 – Separator

Description
This figure is entirely executed in mirror. The 2 kites start from the ground. After a small vertical ascent, they perform a quarter-turn rotation outward so that their leading edge points in that direction. They then advance one and the other a distance equivalent to the previous climb then perform a new rotation to place their leading edge toward the sky. After an ascent equivalent to the first, they finally return to the ground in reverse flight to land on the tip of their spars.
Entry / Exit
The IN is given just before launch. The OUT is given just after landing.
Tips / Key elements
- The kites must evolve at the same speed to preserve all the symmetry of the figure.
- The straight lines must be clean and well horizontal or vertical depending on the stage of the figure.
MPN05 – Two steps

Description
The 2 kites evolving in pursuit mode from right to left, perform, in parallel and in a synchronized manner, 2 successive half-turns, downward, on wing tip, then continue their course in pursuit mode on the same straight line.
Entry / Exit
- The IN is announced when all kites are ready, in pursuit mode, leading edge toward the left.
- The OUT is announced when all kites have traveled a certain distance, in pursuit, after the 2 half-turns.
Tips / Key elements
- The straight lines parallel to the ground must be clean and the kites well aligned.
- The 2 half-turns must be well synchronized and marked with light stalls before and after their execution.
MPN06 – Clock pair

Description
The two kites start from the ground (launch). Having reached half the height of the window, they stop briefly then begin a clock (rotation marking each quarter with a short stall). Back with leading edge upward, the kites perform a descent in reverse flight to land on the tips of their spars.
Entry / Exit
The IN is given just before launch and the OUT just after landing.
Tips / Key elements
- The lines must be straight and aligned relative to the ground (vertically and horizontally).
- The 4 quarters of the clock must be sufficiently marked (small stalls between each quarter turn), to well demonstrate the figure, and synchronized between the two kites.
MPN07 – Mind the gap

Description
The 2 kites start from the ground (launch) in “leading edge on the side” position and perform a climb in slide. Then they head to the other side of the window, at equal distance (relative to the center of the window). Having arrived there, they perform a new slide, downward this time, to land in the same position as during launch.
Entry / Exit
The IN is given just before launch and the OUT just after landing.
Tips / Key elements
- The lines must be straight and aligned relative to the ground (horizontally and vertically).
- The slides must be well mastered.
- The gap between the kites must remain the same throughout the figure.
- The speeds of the 2 kites must be identical.
MPN08 – Together (kiss)

Description
The 2 kites advance gently toward each other on the same horizontal line until they touch delicately leading edge against leading edge. This position is then maintained for a brief moment before the figure ends.
Entry / Exit
- The IN is given when the two kites are located at a reasonable distance on the same horizontal line to advance toward each other.
- The OUT is given after the two kites are in final position, side by side, for a moment (1 to 2 seconds).
Tips / Key elements
- The movement must be clean on the same straight horizontal line.
- The speeds of the 2 kites must be identical, and not too slow (at least at the beginning).
- The kites can slow down a bit as they approach the “touch” but there must not be a break (stall) of one or the other of the kites before contact which must however be mastered and performed gently.
MPN09 – To the loop

Description
The 2 kites start from the ground. They launch at the same time and rise together, then they perform a marked rotation (brief pause before and after the rotation) of a quarter turn counterclockwise on their center. They then advance from right to left on the same straight horizontal line ending with a small loop (also marked with a brief pause before and after) on wing tip to position themselves for a gentle landing on leading edge.
Entry / Exit
The IN is given just before launch. The OUT is given just after landing.
Tips / Key elements
- The straight lines must be clean and well horizontal or vertical depending on the stage of the figure.
- The gap between the kites must remain constant.
- The speed of the kites must be identical (to maintain the gap).
MPN10 – Go to slide

Description
This figure is performed by making the 2 kites evolve in parallel, at equal distance and identical speed. The kites start from the ground, launch at the same time then, after a parallel ascent, begin a slide from right to left, leading edge always upward. At the end of the slide, they perform a reverse flight toward the ground to land gently on the tip of their spars.
Entry / Exit
The IN is given just before launch. The OUT is given just after landing.
Tips / Key elements
- The straight lines must be clean and well horizontal or vertical depending on the stage in the figure.
- The gap between the kites must be constant.
- The speed of the kites must be identical.
MPN11 – The bends

Description
The figure is executed in “parallel” mode, the 2 kites performing the indicated path as if they were connected by a spar from the beginning to the end of the figure.
Entry / Exit
The IN is given just before the launch of the 2 kites.
Tips / Key elements
- The gap between the kites must be constant.
- The speed of each kite must be managed so that they give the illusion of being connected. On the first curve, the one on the right must go slower than the one on the left and vice versa on the second curve.
MPN12 – Here and there

Description
The kites execute in turn and offset, the same simple shape marking a brief pause at each angle.
Entry / Exit
- The IN is given just before the launch of the kites.
- The OUT is given after a small parallel climb of the kites following the stall marking the end of the slide of the right kite.
