New “Behind the Scenes” interview — Marc Levesque opens the competition arena!

Hi the crew!

After our interview with Thierry Deschamps, we’re continuing our behind-the-scenes series.

This time, it’s Marc Levesque — seasoned flyer and head of national competitions — who shares his story: he walks us through a competition day, explains how competing helps you grow, talks about mutual support on the field, the role of local clubs, and his top tips for getting started.

Enjoy the read—and let me know what you think, or which backstage stories you’d like us to uncover next! 😉

New section: Behind the Scenes

Today, we’re opening a brand new space on QuadKites.org: “Behind the Scenes”.

A place to discover what really goes on behind the festivals, bootcamps and events that bring our passion to life.

🎤 We’re kicking things off with an interview with Thierry Deschamps, who runs 2-line and 4-line kite bootcamps every year in Normandy. We talked logistics, tricky moments, clever tricks, group energy… All the stuff you don’t always see when you’re attending — but that makes a huge difference.

📖 The interview is available in English and French, and it’s a must-read if you’ve ever wondered what it takes to run a great kite event.

👉 Read Thierry’s interview

And this is just the beginning — more stories are on the way, always focused on the people who make sport kiting happen.

Got a story to share? Know someone who should be interviewed? 💬 Reach out — this webzine is yours too.

Happy reading and steady winds! 🪁

Support QuadKites.org: keep us soaring high!

We’ve just made our PayPal donation system simpler: faster, easier, and with lower fees. Why? Because hosting this treasure trove of kite knowledge costs several hundred euros a year. Yes, really.

So, as chocolates are flying low and wishes are flying high this season, why not chip in? Every euro counts to keep our site running smoothly and help our community grow!

Happy New Year 2025! We wish you unforgettable moments with friends, tight lines, and kites dancing in the wind! 🎉

We’re preparing subtitles for the remaining tutorials. We’ll soon be making a page dedicated to these tutorials, with a few embedded videos.

QuadKites.org in English!

QuadKites.org is now officially available in English! From now on, you can read our content in English without an automatic translator. We did the translations with Deepl, a customized kite glossary and a lot of proofreading. This English version was very important to us, as around 60% of our visitors are non-French speakers!

We’ve disabled the built-in automatic translator. You can translate our pages using your browser or a translator.

We hope you enjoy the English version! Send us your comments and suggestions.

Enjoy your visit!
