The dark side fade, a 2013 trick: after a fast dive, a sharp tug on the brakes to tip the Rev into a fade on its back, and the small steps that keep it there, with the mistake that makes it fall.

Invented in 2013, this trick is extremely difficult and has a high risk of failure, but when it works, the seconds the Revolution spends in the dark side fade are a real rush of adrenaline. Do a power dive. Once past the center of the wind window, give a snap tug on the brakes with the right intensity and release them immediately. As soon as the Rev is in the backside fade, take small steps forward and/or backward to keep the kite in the dark side fade as long as possible. At the end, give a snap tug on the brakes. The video shows the mistake: a snap tug that's too hard tilts the leading edge toward the ground, and the kite falls with the lines wrapped once.
