With the kite inverted about one meter above the ground, give a snap tug on the brakes and release them immediately: the Rev flips and lands on its lower tips. I first saw this trick in 1997 in St. Moritz, Switzerland, and I named it the dark side. To take off, push your arms forward, then immediately pull the brakes and pull your arms. Another way to take off: take one or two steps backward, letting the leading edge tilt into the wind, then give a snap tug on the accelerator so the kite lifts a few centimeters, and immediately snap the brakes.
