Key takeaways from this video
- The angle of attack (AOA) determines how the kite flies, and on a quad kite you change it with your handles.
- Thumbs back gives a steeper angle and the kite flies forward; thumbs forward gives a flatter angle and the kite flies backward.
- Handles in neutral, with subtle input only, make the kite hover; returning the handles to neutral puts it back into a hover.

The angle of attack and the handles
0:20The Angle of Attack (AOA) determines how your kite will fly. With a quad lined kite, you change the kite's AOA using your handles.
Thumbs back, thumbs forward, neutral
0:33Pulling your thumbs back makes for a steeper angle, and the kite flies forwards. Pushing your thumbs forward makes for a flatter angle, and the kite flies backwards. Handles in neutral position, and with subtle input only, the kite will hover.

0:52Let's take a closer look. Handles neutral: kite hovers. Pull thumbs back: kite flies forward. Handles back to neutral: kite back into hover. Push thumbs forward: kite flies backwards. Handles back to neutral: kite back into hover.
