The handles are the kite's control mechanism, and the four lines are tied to them. Each handle has a top end, the accelerator, and a bottom end, the brake. Holding the handles, if you pull your thumbs back toward you, the kite accelerates and takes off. If you push your thumbs forward, not too much, the kite stops. Push forward again and you increase the brakes, and the kite moves backward. Make your wrist movements slowly to build up your flying skills.
