Advanced Rev Inversions, Part 2 by Revolution Kites
Advanced combinations from the inverted hover: reverse launch, 360 snap and double dive stop.
From the series Spins, hover and reverse. Transcript by QuadKites.org.
Key takeaways from this video
- From the inverted hover on the ground, a hammer fist down and a step back launch the Rev in a reverse launch; hold the position for three seconds, then longer.
- First combination: from an inverted hover, a 360 snap, then a stop in an inverted hover.
- The double dive stop: dive stop halfway down the window into an inverted hover, 360 snap, another dive stop towards the ground and exit with a snap spin.
- Fast spins, crisp stops, precise angles and stable hovers make good combinations.

Inverted hover and reverse launch
0:00Inversions are one of my favorite skills. I love the way they turn my face red. All kidding aside, let's take a look at some advanced Revolution skills using the inverted hover. A quick review of the inverted hover: all four lines tight, your Rev is inverted on the ground, thumbs forward. Now we're going to do a hammer fist down and back as we step back. This will reverse launch your Rev. Once it's in the air, try to hold it there for three seconds. Work your way up until you've got total control and you can hold it there as long as you want. Thumbs forward, tight lines, hammer fist down, step back. Once you have your basic hover skills down, we're ready to build advanced combos. Let's get started.
First advanced combo
1:25The first advanced inverted skill: we're going to start from an inverted hover, do a 360 snap, and stop on the inverted hover. This is what it looks like. Here are some tips to help your combinations pop. Number one, fast spins. Number two, sharp stops. Number three, accurate angles. That's how you make a shockingly good combination.
The double dive stop
2:03Advanced combo number two. What could be more exciting than a dive stop? A double dive stop. This is what we're going to do in this combo. We start at the top of the window, dive stop halfway through the window into an inverted hover, snap spin 360 back to that inverted hover just like before, then dive stop again to the ground and snap spin out of it. This is what it looks like. Again, the trick to great combos is fast, sharp, accurate, and dead steady hovers. Combinations are the key to advanced patterns. Here's a quick demo to inspire you to create your own pattern. Check it out. I hope you found this helpful.
