Revolution Spider Reflex in light wind versus the Revolution Reflex RX by Revolution Kites

Key takeaways from this video

  • In wind from 0 to about 6 miles per hour (about 10 km/h), the vented Super Spider floats in a side hover and comes back into the window by itself.
  • That float makes it a very good kite for 3D flying on short lines.
  • The same model has flown in over 30 miles per hour (about 48 km/h).

So we have the Reflex. This is a Reflex Spider, the full Super Spider, with the vented outer wing tip too, but a mid-vent would be more of an idea of it. I'm flying here and we've got all kinds of variable conditions. It's from 0 up to about 6 right now, and it's blowing about 5. I'm going to show you what it looks like. There's our standard Reflex right next to it, same color scheme.

  2. Floating and wind range

So let's take it up. Let's do a side hover, and the float is really crazy. There it is, it completely just floats back into the window. I love it for 3D flying. Taking it up, flying it, like I said, this is really good on short lines. These are cut to about 100 feet or so, so this is not what it's made for, but I'm showing you the wind range it has, and I've flown this over 30 miles an hour, so that's not really a problem.
